Restock of H&R M12 target rifle

Post by drphysic »

I have an M12 that I am considering restocking. I have reworked the original stock to get rid of the sway-back and generally sharpen up its lines, but have started to think about a new stock. I am wondering if the bedding for the M12 is anywhere close to that of a Win 52, as it would simplify the task if I could use a partially inlet stock for a 52. Does anyone know how similar the bedding would be? Is there another common candidate?

If this thread is anything to go by, it can be done, but requires work. The two actions are not identical, only similar.

Thanks for pointing this out, it is exactly what I hoped to discover. I agree with the discussion that the original M12 stock is awfully hard to make look good, even with walnut caps, etc.

Thanks again. DRB

Go to the Very Large Array, take off your tinfoil hat and the answer will come.
