2014 Collegiate Championships

Post by jhmartin »

Great to see that NCAA is moving to the "new" timelines and position order.
Hopefully they will move to the new Final format as well.

Hopefully NRA will do the same for the Intercollegiate Club sectionals and championships.

If I remember right I think they said they wouldn't change the rules until 2014 but don't hold me to that ;) I think that since the majority of the NRA Clubs that exist are fairly low budget they are worried about shutting down the existing clubs due to improper equipment. They had to bend the rules this last year at the NRA Intercollegiates because some teams had such old rifle their hooks were illegal under the recent rules.

I have no issue with a relaxed "Any Rifle" set of rules (for SBR) ... I don't think it makes much difference (if any at all).

I would like NRA to adopt the new international order of positions, timelines, and finals format.

NRA should make sure of that no illegals guns should be used in the Intercollegiate Club sectionals and championships. Gun lovers really wants to be part of this championship.

Joel,

The NRA Collegiate Programs Committee meets on Saturday 5/10 and I have asked that the question of course of fire for college rifle club nationals, as well as a number of other questions concerning courses of fire, rules, equipment, timing, equipment control, etc., be placed on the agenda.
