So on the way to help a friend to move his furniture, I wore my usual shooting outfit, which was the same as any normal training tracksuit outfit, with the exception that I have a Haemmerli and an Eley patch on the shirt. Shoes, Pants and Shirts are all Adidas. Nothing to catch anyone's eyes. I stopped by a gas station to pay for some gas.
Customer behind me in the queue:
"Are those Samba Shoes?"
"Yeah."
"You play soccer?"
"Yeah, but I like to shoot....."
"Me too!! That's why I play striker, I shoot a lot! Anyway, which club do you play for?"
"I don't have a club right now..."
"Cool. What do you play?"
"Free P...."
"Ah, Free Position, that's Libero, so you are a sweeper then, free to roam around. No wonder you said you like to shoot a lot. Cool. Anyway, where do you usually play?"
"Here and there, usually San Leandro or some park in San Mateo.."
"Ah, I see that your shirt has Adidas on it! I like Adidas. What team is this...the one that says H-something?"
"They are from Switzerland"
"No wonder it looks like a Red Cross. What about the Eley thing, is that the sponsor?"
"Yeah, they are an English company specializing in making brass materials"
"How long have you been doing this?"
"I am a late starter...barely eight months so far...oh, its my turn...$25 for gas station #6 please."
"Cool man, see you around..., summer league will start pretty soon in a month or so!, I am in the over 45 league, its never too late to start!".
