new shooter saying hello
Hi all
Looking to get into bullseye and service pistol/rifle shooting. Later on I will probably pick up air or Olympic style pistol or rifle.
I'm a little older then I like to get started in shooting being 26 in all. But at this time in life i can afford stuff.
Current guns that i will be using
Springfield mil spec W/ Marvel Unit 1 (on order and at the gunsmith)
Springfield mil spec –hardball
Rock River Arms Match AR-15

Good luck with your new shooting career.
I started competition at 31 years old, now 41 years later, I am still shooting and preparing to go to Perry.
I shot smallbore prone and 3P, high power and bullseye pistol.
I also dabble in cowboy sass matches.
You will not meet a better group of people.
Just make sure, to have fun.....

One is never too old to start competitive shooting and at 26 you are far from being over the hill. A lot has to do with how one gets started. If you can get a good coach, you will improve by leaps and bounds over someone who tries to learn on his/her own. I learned on my own and it took me a long time to get to master and I think it stunted my performance.

$20 says the next youngest person at your first match will be old enough to join AARP. Welcome to one of the more ageless sports out there.gitkrunk wrote:I'm a little older then I like to get started in shooting being 26 in all. But at this time in life i can afford stuff.
