Walther SSP underbarrel recoil dampening

Post by eclam »

My friend just got one of these from Walther, but no instructions.
Anyone out there know what the adjustment screws do (front and
back).

This add on replaces the weights under the barrel.

I believe (not certain) that one alters the amount of movement and the other alters the compression/strength of the spring that dampens the movement.

I wouldn't have thought that it would be too difficult to work out which is which (trial and error?).

I bought one new that also came without instructions. I finally sourced the instructions through the importers but found that endless changes produced no discernible difference in recoil. This may be an isolated problem, and if anyone can enlighten me as to the correct way of seeing a difference then please do.
I believe the device is correctly termed as being a "mass dampener", however I am prepared to be enlightened on this as well.
