Grip for MC55-1 free pistol

I bought a second hand MC55-1 free pistol today.

Pistol came with modified stock grip. It is possible to make fit to my hand but that would take a lot of filler and carving..

Rink seems to make grips for this pistol. Are there alternatives? Morini?

Has anyone tried to fit a Hämmerli 150 or 152 grip to MC55-1?
Larry´s guns has 150/152 grips for sale at low price..

Making a grip from block of wood is one option, but I don´t have time for that now.. Did it years ago with Toz35M

I may at some point order a Rink grip..

Now I´m leaning towards buying a cheap Hämmerli 150 grip and modifying it.
Parts that go inside grip look somewhat similar on both pistol models so it should be possible.

Store where I bought this pistol from had another MC55-1 that has Rink grip.
But it was way too small for me :(

I bought a Rink grip for my MU55-1. At first, I wasn't happy with it then I realised just how adjustable it was and now it is a very good fitting grip. My hand size is 100mm across the knuckles - by the Rink measurement system.

They did not have my size in stock and it took over 6 weeks for it to arrive.

I wish Morini would make grips for these pistols because I have fitted every other pistol I own with Morini grips and they are perfect for me - seems like I have a Morini hand!

The funny conclusion to this story is that the grips that were fitted to the MU55-1 were way too small and they had been painted gloss black. They were highly modified original grips that were carved out and bogged up with plastic wood. After the Rinks arrived, I started chipping out the top layer of bog and presto, the grips fitted almost perfectly! I can laugh now about my $350 Rink grips but it hurt at the time. Another lesson learnt.

I´ll remove the filler material from the factory grip someday and see how well it fits my hand.

Getting a good grip isn´t a simple task. I measured my hand and ordered LP10E with Steyr "L" grip. Feels too small.. So got a Steyr "XL" grip to test. That XL feels too big. By rink system my hand is approx. 98mm.

Seems Larry´s guns is sold out on those Hämmerli 152 grips or something.. No replies to my emails.

Larry´s finally answered today. No XL grips there and they say L is too small for me.

What size that Hämmerli 152 L size grip was? For how many mm wide hand etc.

How much they are asking for, and is it going to be listed as C&R?

I think MC55 is not C&R at all, they were not made before 1963. (Neither does Toz-35, which did not start until 63 I think).

Here you can see what it looks like with a Rink grip. It is a MC55-1M, not a MC55-1 like yours. Don't know what the differences are though. I just bought this one, waiting for the paperwork to come through.

I ordered a grip from mr. Rink approx. nine weeks ago. It arrived today.
Feels good, much better than the stock grip that came with this pistol or the Steyr FP1 stock grip I modified last spring.

But there´s one annoying little problem: Pistol doesn´t fit in the box anymore.. :I
Oh well, I´ll go to the range this evening.
