RWS Basic pellets probably score within a couple of percent of RWS R10 or other high-end pellets costing a lot more. The humble green tin holds good value. RWS Hobby is fine too if your gun likes those, but they are a tighter fit in some barrels. Don't worry too much about the pellets until you have a lot more experience, as the difference between a modest (not ultra-cheap - leave the discount Chinese-made pellets alone) and a top of the line pellet is not going to get you more than a point or two at most, while the price per tin can be double or worse.

Can we have a pleasure to see you progress in competitive performance Mr. Gerard?
I hope you will deliver as you promised before? I hope job load or health conditions can not affect you readiness to stand for your words at this year or next, I assume?

JAX;
I started with an Izzy and moved to a LP1 match compressed air pistol.
I tested different ammo in the Izzy and the Steyr.
My conclusion when it was all said and done...
I got rid of/ gave away all of it BUT the R10 match(.45 gram pistol) pellets.
I use it for practice and matches.
One less thing to worry about.
It is not the most expensive and not the least, just right and it shoots excellent.
Get a sleeve of it and start shooting.
End of story.
Clarence
P.S.
Rovers bark is worse than his bite.
I know him personally, but I do not know if that is a good thing :)

How many of Vonnegut's works have you read, Mr. Russ? Do you read? I've often noted that you resort to insulting comments when people in this forum mention reading as a source of information regarding pistol training. Seems you have an allergy to literacy. Oh boy, isn't this fun! Off to the races with the troll again!Russ wrote:It is always pleasure to see highly intelligent and educated members on this forum. :))

And yet you pay so very much attention to them Russ, even when they're not direction towards you! I was, if you'll look back a bit, responding to Rover's comment. I said nothing about your pellet preference, and frankly could not care any less what pellets you prefer.Russ wrote:I will watch you scores Mr. Gerard. You postings have no value for me.
I desire to get attention. That's rich.Russ wrote: Please do not disappoint members of this forum. I hope your performance will look no different as you desire to get attention. ;)

Time out guys.
Let us try to stay with the OP's question.
But I guess this is the time for me to speak about Russ.
A few weeks ago Russ and I had a good long telephone conversation.
My impression is that there definatley is a language/ interpretation barrier especially when he writes on the forum.
But in talking to Russ and asking him to reinterate what he just said, then the meaning of what is trying to be said is different.
Russ to me is an intellegent person with a passion to teach others.
We both agreed on many things and the outcome of the conversation was very good.
Bottom line is that whether you believe it or not, Russ is good people.
