The argument that track goes to zero for finals doesn't apply to shooting because in track they run exactly the same event over again. At least in rifle and pistol it would be equivalent to running a marathon for qualification and a 100m sprint for a final.

The argument still applies, but it isn't conclusive. I do see your point. And I am not suggesting that the proposed change is a good one.

Plus thats based on the assumption that they won't change qualifications too.

Interesting to see that he used Russian ammo - which he describes as being superior to anything being made now.
