Knobloch Side Blinders: How to attach to frames?

Post by cgroppi »

Hi all,

I just received a set of Knobloch side blinders, and can't quite figure out how to attach them to the frames. I have an old pair of frames from when I was a junior rifle shooter in the early 90s. I recently got into pistol shooting (both Bullseye and International), and have bought some ISSF legal accessories to convert them. The larger lens holder and the ISSF legal blinder were obvious, but the side blinders are not.

Each blinder comes with an attached clip at the front that appears to fit over the temple piece of the frame. No similar clip is attached to the rear of the blinder, although an identical mounting point is provided. Attaching them only at the front does not seem right. The blinders do not stay put, and sag at the rear. I cannot find any directions or pictures, on the knobloch website or otherwise.

How do I properly attach them? Is there an issue using the new blinders with my old frames?

Hi still waiting on the Morini grip to arrive ,will let you know, as for the blinkers you have to buy 2 more clips which are available from champions choice, or use 2 small cable ties ,cheers S

Yeah I have old Knoblochs frame too. The side blinders' attachment clips can be squeezed on the arms of the frame, and you can slide them back and forth until you find the appropriate position. Technically though, if you look at the attachment clips, they are actually meant to mount over the root of the arms, ie, right over the screw. Yes, you can't fold the frame like that, but apparently they are meant to go there.

Personally as a pistol shooter, they can't go there for me since it would violate ISSF rule about the side blinder not passing the nose. So mine sits on the arms. And yes, the back of the blinder does sag a bit, but it is no big deal, it won't fall off.
