Odd AP problem

Post by NDbullseye »

I had a odd problem happen tonight. I shot 5 shots on a target, changed targets and when I shot the first shot it acted like it didn't have any air pressure. I took the tank off and checked it and the pressure said it was at 150 bar. So I bleed it a little bit and then it seemed to work just fine. The other cylinder worked just fine. It was on a Walther LP201. What caused this problem?? Did maybe the check value stick in the tank???

In messing with my LP201 when the wrong size O-ring was used inside of the air tank I had a similar condition. The OEM o-ring is pretty large compared to the replacements I purchased, replaced with some larger o-rings and it works..

When was the last time the air tanks were resealed?

I don't think they ever have from new. I bought this pistol from another bullseye shooter. He shot it for years and didn't have any issue. I called pilk today and they think it is the regulator. I also talked to two other pistol shooters in the state, one is a gunsmith, they think the same. I tried it with both cylinders last night and nothing. Just enough pressure to get the pellet to the target but not thru the cardboard backer.

Send it to Pilk. See if you can get the guy who sold it to you to give you money.

Rover, I have shot over 6 tins thru it without an issue so, I don't think it is anything he did or I did. Stuff happens unfortunately. If it would've happened in the first tin. Then yeah I can see trying to get some money to fix it.

Low velocity can be either the regulator valve or the striker that opens the valve.
If this happened all of a sudden, you may have broken a spring or have something crudding up the works.
Strip and inspect, having a good look at the striker and striker spring first. Disassembly of the regulator is a little more difficult and may need a gunsmith.

I got it back today from pilkington. It was an oring inside the regulator that went bad.
