Benneli mp90 extractor issues
I have a 32, and the extractor just fell out the other night. I replaced it with a new one and spring. Anybody had this problem, any tricks to a fix?

I just sent my mod. 95 to Larry's for a new extractor and to see if there is something causing the self destruct...They said the most common cause is a hot load. No definition was given for a 'hot load' I was using Fiocchi factory 98 grs. One other cause cited by Dave Wilson was a burr or misalignment of the extractor and the slot in the bbl. I don't think this a rare issue for a B. 32...

Not rare
I have seen it happen to two other people. Once in a match and once when I was at my club practicing.
These were different guns, both Benelli so not a rare occurrence. I did get a big thanks for being the one to find one of the extractors in front of the line mixed in the grass and .22 cases

It is a good idea to round the edges of the extractor that go into the barrel. Just don't round where it grabs the cartridge. I use a dremel tool and all that is really necessary is to take off the sharp edge. If the barrel has been taken out and put back in, it could be out of alignment but that would be easy to see and correct because the extractor groove in the barrel has to line up with the groove in the frame. It is also remotely possible that some kind of dirt is wedged into the notch in the barrel where the extractor fits.

Benelli MP90 Extractor Issues
Gunrunner,
Last week, I just happened to be talking to a fellow shooter who had the exact same issue with his MP90 as you have with your's. The solution? He removed the extractor, its spring and the plunger. He then installed a small ball bearing into the extractor opening. (A single shot pellet of the correct diameter was used.) Reassemble all parts back in the right sequence. The bearing takes up some of the space in the extractor opening, thus increasing the tension the extractor puts on the cartridge's rim. Problem solved by a cheap easy fix!
