IZZY 46M Bolt Seal Replacement

Post by Scrench »

HI,

My bolt seal is flat, partially covering the port hole, and pealing rubber. Is the best way to replace it just to stick a new seal in there or is there some way to glue it in?

Thanks,
Richard

To test if you need to replace the bolt seals, just cover the bolt area with a light tissue paper, cock and shoot the pistol.

If you see that a puff of air has moved the tissue, then you need to replace the seal(s). I never had any problems with my seals, just leave the bolt unlatched when you finish using the pistol and use a slight dab of silicone grease when you see them dry.

Kevin,

Thanks for the reply. I tried as you suggested and there was no movement of the paper at all. It still shoots R10's @ 495 fps average, but since the seal is partially covering the port hole and looks like it's falling apart, I thought I could get a little more fps out of it, plus I'd rather replace the seal before it fails in the middle of a match or something.

If the pistol is shooting 495 fps. average, the velocity is O.K., and if you're using the gun for competing then you should replace the seal.

Are you using the R-10's that weighs 7.0 grains or the 8.2 grains?

R10's are 7.0g. It also shoots JSB greens @ 470 fps, and H&N Match Finale 7.56g @ 462.
