Lens Replacement Surgery
Has anyone had any experience with Lens Replacement Surgery. Do not have cataracts but have farsightedness and cannot see iron sights.

I had cataract surgery some years ago. My doctor replaced the lenses with a plastic lens which corrects me to 20/15 at distance. However, the plastic lens has no ability to change focus so I have to wear progressive bifocals for anything under about 15-20 ft to be sharp. I can only see open sights through shooting glasses, but that is okay since I shoot only FP and AP anyway.
I don't know what your doctor has in mind, but the setup I have is the very definition of "far sightedness".

What I did was to have the lens in my right eye (I'm a right handed shooter) corrected for 3ft ( ca. -1 diopter) and the other for normal disatnce. I use a pair of Morgan Optical shooting glasses with replacable lenses designed for shotgun shooters. Now I can see the front sight clearly with the right eye and the target with the left eye - the brain somehow puts it all together.
