Palm shelf adjust ?

Post by toddinjax »

What is the basic procedure for setting the palm shelf for a 10m AP? Should it be "set" with the wrist straight or with the wrist "locked" down in firing position? I find the front sight on my Izzy nosing down a bit and have to "lock" my wrist a little less to bring the sight up where I need it. Could the palm shelf be adjusted to help solve this issue? I suspect I'm going to have to add a little wood under the trigger guard. Thanks.

Sometimes just a little firmer grip will bring the muzzle up.

You can also "cock" the palm shelf a little.

The palm shelf should be secure against the hand but not too tight. I'm struggling to visualise it, but the palm shelf should not influence the direction the gun points. That suggests to me something else in the grip isn't quite right.
