Ammo for 208

Post by bachekermooni »

What ammo do you use for practice? For matches?
Thanks.

Anything standard velocity is usually fine function wise in the 208. Most of the time I use CCI SV although for matches I prefer Wolf Match Target which is also marketed as SK Standard plus.

That is exactly what I have been doing. How do you deal with the Sk "grease"? I keep a small towel to clean my hands with after loading the mags.

Do you know the dimentions of the chamber?

Eley tenex is what i shot in important matches but it has gone way out of sight in price so no more. In ransom tests CCI pistol match shot within 1/4 inch as good as tenex (still under 1 '') so i shoot it at 50yds, and cci standard vel at 25yds.

I live in a really dry climate and the lube on the Lapua ammo does not bother me a bit. But in answer to your question, most bullseye shooters keep a towel in their box anyway to wipe their hands. It is a necessary item when you put a lot of oil in your gun to keep it functioning in adverse conditions and you end up with a lot of oil and carbon blowing back from your 45.
