Guide for improving shooting skills

Post by Paul G. »

Help, it's not the rifle!

I'd like to refine my shooting skills, is there a book or some articles that would be a good guide to improve my shooting skills with air rifles (10m match specifically).

My experience: Have spent much timep shooting small bore bench rest style about 20 years ago striving for accuracy, but never have had any formal traiing about technique etc. About the best I could achieve back then were .5" 5 shot groups at 100 yds. I was never sure what was the guns contribution and what was mine.

I'd like to refine my shooting skills starting at the bench with a Walther LGM-1 and then refine my "offhand" shooting ability.

All suggestion on how to gain knowledge and technique would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

"Rifle: Steps to Success" by Launi Meili is specific to air riflr, and "Ways of the Rifle" is great overall.

There are many other, but those will give you a good start.

Also, check out lots of good stuff under the coaching & info tab on our hosts site (pilkguns.com).

Thanks for the pointers.

Can anyone provide a link to the notes -I've looked high and low but for the life of me can't seem to find them.

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks for the link.

I've read several of the articles now - great information - will continue to exhaust this resource.
