Well, just finished up our 2011 State FNRA committee meeting and as usual youth programs came out very well .... probably better than some deserved when you look at help some give, but I think the 4-H programs here came out well and the requestors are going to be happy.
One thing that I think is going to raise a ruckus, and I'd like to know if this is just our state or others are like it is that the requestors will not be placing the NRA Grant Store Orders, but that is now another of the functions of our state rep (as if he does not have other stuff to keep him busy ... like running the banquets). The only good news here is that he said he can start placing orders next week.
Also, had one 4-H coach that ordered a boatload of the 12ga Sellier & Belliot (sp?) shotgun shells is having trouble with them in semi-auto shotguns ... says that they are about 1/8" longer than say AAs or other US made shells ... anyone else have issues? If so we need to let Kevin know at the NRA Grant store know.

I'm using 20ga S&B in Rem 1100s with no problems. Wouldn't order the 12ga at 3.5 dram. Too much punch for my shooters.
Re: Friends of NRA
I agree, my preference with my own kids is to shoot either international loads or lighter ... 7/8oz at 1200fps in a 12ga O/U & they can shoot for hours.Joe Gaynor wrote:I'm using 20ga S&B in Rem 1100s with no problems. Wouldn't order the 12ga at 3.5 dram. Too much punch for my shooters.
He was saying that the S&B's were jamming .... 1/8" longer should not be an issue with semi's chambered for 3" mags should it? Dunno, just wanted to see if anyone else was having those issues as well
