Problems with Walther SSP

Posting on for friend who needs help with a new SSP.

A friend of mine, an expert in standard pistol just got a new SSP. The trigger spring is very strong. When sighting in at 25 meters, it is hard to get a group going for nothing. When releasing the trigger, the firing pin slams very hard on the rim of the round, the front sight then moves which throws off the shot. Has anyone had this problem? Also, when loading the magazine into the magazine well and then let the slide go forward, the top round doesn't go into the chamber, but instead it pops out of the gun. This has happen to all mags and it has happened several times. Or sometimes the mag won't go into the well or it's difficult to remove.

Are these problems common?
For the price of this firearm, it should be faultless.

BTW, are those sighting targets that come with SSP real?

The magazine issue is about proper loading and handling.
You should load the magazine by pulling down the follower to allow the cartridges to settle, and insert into magwell without pulling top cartridge forward with your fingers.
About the firing pin being too strong and moving the front sight, sounds like lack of experience.

I've had none of those problems with mine, in fact I've had no problems with it. Has you friend had it apart? If not he should have and cleaned up any of the packing lubes? If he has did he put it back together right?

The striker doesn't slam in mine, not even sure how it would.

What do you mean the "trigger spring is very strong"? Could he have mis adjusted the trigger, the adjustments work together so if you change one it will change the other, you need to adjust the trigger in an orderly fashion and follow the instructions.

Yes they are real targets, I watched them do some at the factory when I went on a tour.

I've not had any trouble with mine either except one or two failures to eject which has been solved.
Has your friend swapped any springs around?

My friend, an experience shooter, did not adjust any part of the pistol. Shot it brand new out of the box and encountered these problems.

Thats why pistols come with owners manuals, and instructions for setting such things as trigger weight preferences, and the correct magazine loading technique.

Yes, he maybe experienced but it is a new and different pistol and it uses a striker which might be vastly different than anything he's shot in the past. For starters the trigger weight has no bearing on how hard the striker hits as the problem was explained in the first post.

Pretty much my feelings as well. An "experienced" shooter definately would not approach a new pistol in this manner. Also the mention of the striker arm being released, and disrupting the sight picture is crap. [ sounds more like inexperienced technique rather than an experienced shooter]
The technicians at Walther must read such dribble and have serious doubts about why they bother at all.
