Inexpensive red dot for bullseye practice with air pistol?

My club range is closed for early summer due to a massive upgrade
of air handling/ heating system. Until the range is back in operation I have an Izzy 46m that I would like to do a bit of slow fire red dot practice with.

I see that Pyramid air has an appropriate rail on sale for the 46M right now
and wonder if an inexpensive red dot like the BSA or similar would be "good enough" for my purposes. I think that an ultra dot might be a bit of overkill on an air pistol but do remember the old adage that you get what you pay for.

Any experience with inexpensive red dots on air pistols?

I bought several of the BSA red dots for $20 each and I'm using them on spring guns, so they take a beating.

The UltraDot I use on my .22 pistol has already been replaced once and does not really seem to be of better quality than the BSA.

Buy the BSA, I think the same unit is marketed under different brand names for much more money..

Are any of the cheapies red dots relatively parallax free?
It seems as this is a big difference between the $30.00 unit
and the $90.00+ units.

I've used Daisy's dot on my Izzy for 3+ years works great and holds zero.

Do you feel that using it helps your slow fire scores or at least makes up for lack of real fire training?

Just about anything that uses the same muscles and motor skills will help in your shooting career.

Actually, I got into air pistol (and then International) because of the beating I took at Camp Perry. I immediately went to commercial row there and bought a FWB 65 to train with. It was one of my smarter moves.

Absolutely, it is good training and I always recommend it to new (or not so new) shooters. It's also the perfect entry to International shooting. I personally enjoy it more than any other event.

Ebay has LOTS of cheapo dots, allthough watch out the quality..
I have a Hawke dot, RD30 I believe.
