School visits

As a way of introduction to shooting/guns we invite our local highschool year 8 (12 year olds) to come to our pistol club for a couple of hours every year. They sample air pistols first and get a lecture on safety,then try .22 followed by larger calibres. They all seem to enjoy themselves. Maybe we will follow up on this this year, those that are interested might even bring their parents down for a look-see. We might even get a new member or two!!(hands on guns is what we need). Another source of new shooters is the Boy Scouts.

Here in the US Boy Scouts are not allowed to shoot handguns, but Venture Scouts are allowed to shoot them after taking an NRA Basic Pistol class.
