I was invited to go on an Archery Elk hunt in CO next Sept. so I decided to take a lesson to get used to shooting a mechanical release {I've shot fingers for over 40 years}. One problem I see is that once I get the sight pin on the target, I'm supposed to look at the target only and not the pin. Gosh, I hope it doesn't wreck my pistol shooting!
I shot some AP after the last two archery sessions and I seem to concentrate better on the front sight now. We'll see after a few months.
I really hope I don't get mixed up and send an arrow into the bullet trap!

I shoot on my 10m AP range and the bow is on 59 lbs. I have the option of going to 16m if I stand in my garage. I'm debating if I need a longer draw length. I can't seem to get comfortable with an anchor point.

After a month of shooting the bow and very little shooting of the AP and no Free, I can't get used to the trigger on the archery mechanical release. I did get a different bow because the draw length was short an inch. I also went to 70 lbs. I now shoot the bow using my middle finger on the trigger because I could not get used to such a crappy trigger compared to my pistols.
